That's right. Gilbert Arenas injured his knee last night (and the news is not very good). This injury, along with Caron Butler's broken hand, means that the Wizards' season is basically over. The first round of the playoffs will simply be a formality.
I know that this is not a sports blog and that very few of you care about this (except for Sam and Jesse), but this is about much more than sports. For the past two years, I have sacrificed my spring semester grades for the Wizards and their short playoff runs. This year, when grades really don't matter anymore, I have nothing to put off studying for (although I'm sure I'll find something).

I'm very sad about this. I personally do not have a favorite NBA team. In fact, I only avidly watch the NBA during the playoffs. So, I will admit I am a bandwagon fan. I loved watching the Bulls during the mid-90's, and I loved cheering against the Lakers in the early 00's. So, now that the Wizards are done-for, whose bandwagon should I join??? I say the Suns! That Steve Nash is just so loveable. Sorry Gilbert, good luck with the rehab.
steve nash is pretty dreamy...
I must admit, this was a double-whammy for me. Not only am I a big Zards fan, but my fantasy league team, Gilbertology, is in the playoffs and was on a fast-track to the title before Agent Zero went down last night.
Andray Blatche will lead us to glory!
