The weather has been very Summer-esque around here. We haven't had a good rain storm in over a month (which is pretty unusual), but the warm summer days have been abundant so we've been playing outside, going to playgroups and made a couple trips to the pool. It's unfortunate that pools are not as popular out here as they are out west, but at least we know of one person whose in-laws have a pool and so we bombard their home every time we're invited.
So yesterday on our little pool day Ethan wanted to go swimming. Typically this would mean that I would have to hold him the entire time and he would claw at me if I wasn't holding him properly. But for some reason after a few minutes of dragging behind Eleanor's floating thing he decided to let go and try swimming (with a life jacket of course) on his own. I couldn't have been more proud, and happy to not hear him screeching at me every couple of minutes. He was loving it and ventured to the deep end and back probably a dozen times. Eleanor was content just sitting in her floatie with me pulling her around. I could definitely get used to pool days like this.

So proud of the little man, I know it was a big accomplishment! Next summer its Powell for him.
How about he tell his cousin, Naomi to be brave. She is driving me crazy at the pool cuz she doesn't want to "swim" herself!
