5 Months and Other Shenanigans

Well, it looks as if it's the end of the month again (finally!) which means this not-so-little lady is 5 months old. She is getting so big. Literally. On the Wii Fit this morning she weighed in at 19.2 lbs. I guess you could say she's one big healthy baby.

The only problem with her increasing size is that she has a bunch of 6-12 month clothing that is summer-esque and she needs to be wearing it now before she grows out of it. Unfortunately it hasn't been above 45 degrees for the past few weeks, so she's still sporting long sleeves and pants. Most of the things I've bought for the summer now are 12-18 months. She's already out of the "baby" clothes and into the "toddler" sizes. It happened way too fast!

She is still very interested in sticking everything in her mouth. We pretty much gave up on feeding her strictly rice cereal and have moved on to squash, sweet potatoes, peaches and pears. She's been doing fairly well, but is still super messy when she eats. She rolls over all the time but hasn't learned to sit up on her own yet. When looking through photos of Ethan I found some of him sitting up at 4 months old. So for the past few days I've been trying to "teach" her how to sit up. Hopefully she'll get it down in the next few weeks.

She's still a big fan of her jumper and I just had to find a comparison photo between her legs and Ethan's. Eleanor does have big legs, but not as much knee fat as Ethan.

Because I can't just post about Eleanor, I'll give an honorable mention to the other kid around here. Ethan is very into superheros right now, though Mario is still his character of choice. He's also started to enjoy doing puzzles. Ethan got his first puzzle last week and enjoys putting it together multiple times a day. He still makes us laugh continually with his impressions and reenactments from movie scenes. His latest favorite songs come from Mary Poppins. More specifically "Spoonful of Sugar", "Chim Chiminee", and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". I still can't decipher how he says supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, but I'm sure he'll get it right someday soon.

I've been busy getting crafty once again. The latest and greatest are headbands for Eleanor (since she doesn't have much hair). She loves to grab the flowers once she reaches up her hands to her head, so unfortunately most of the time it ends covering her eyes or the flower/bow is in her mouth.

She wasn't the happiest little model for me.

Then there's the yarn wreath I made for our front door. It's more substantial than our old wreath and is just Springy.

I made the same kind of wreath for Christmas! Do you have a cutter you use for your flowers?

Be careful carrying around that beautiful "healthy" girl! What kind of puzzles is Ethan into?

Robin - no, I got some free templates online and then traced them out and cut them out the good ol' fashioned way. I originally made the flowers for Eleanor and some headbands but decided they were too jumbo for her head. They work better on a wreath.

I love your wreath! Fab!

And 19 POUNDS?!?! SOOO AMAZING

Gigi is coming in at 16 big ones, and they say she's 90th percentile! I don't even believe them. We need to get these two chunkers together!
