Back in Ol' Virginny

This weekend we made a quick trip down to Virginia to visit with family and meet the newest addition to the Mudrick clan, Lena Grace. It was short, but sweet to see almost all of Ben's family and we wish that Mary, Josh and Stella could have been there to join in on the fun. We arrived in the afternoon on Saturday, and between then and Tuesday we had a birthday celebration for Ethan, a baby blessing and brunch, a trip to DC, dinner with UVA Law School friends, Kate and Travis, family and my sister and an outlet mall visit, we wore out Ethan completely. Plus he didn't sleep that well in the pack and play the first night and screamed so hard he broke blood vessels in his face. Maybe he's just used to sleeping like this at home:

Anyway, we had a great time as always and wish that we lived closer so that we could enjoy weekends like this more frequently. It's a shame we like Rochester so much and probably won't be moving anytime soon. Here are some pics from the weekend to tide you over until our next venture out this weekend with my family to Toronto. Yep, we're big travelers these days.

I love how excited Ethan was to be sung to and to get another cake.

Apparently that wore off when he realized he had to share his delicious Mom Mud cake.

Ethan and Naomi absolutely adored playing with one another. And they would take turns and got along really well.

Maybe a little too well...

Ethan loved the big dinosaur bones at the Natural History Museum.

I think it's funny you can see Uncle Jesse's reflection trying to get Ethan to open wide like a hippo.

Our whole fam (baby belly included) at the US Capitol.

Our trip to the Air and Space Museum was short, but Ethan loved the "big planes".

Oh my gosh, that poor little guy. I can't believe he broke a blood vessel. :( That is really cute how he sleeps in his crib at home.
