Maple Tree Inn

Yesterday morning Ethan and I ventured down south with some friends to catch the tail end of the maple syrup season at the Maple Tree Inn. Sure, the drive was over an hour an a half, and sure, we got lost, but it was worth it! All you can eat buckwheat pancakes, and free pancakes for kids 2 and under is my idea of worth it. Oh and it was in the 70's yesterday so the weather was gorgeous. And who knew that fresh maple syrup was like liquid gold?! It tasted so good! I probably downed at least 6 pancakes and Ethan had about 3. The weather is going to be equally gorgeous today, so we've got plans to take advantage of it.

The pancake-eating crew. The kids were starving when we got there so I think some of them just started eating pads of butter and drank the coffee creamer on the table.

Adam was a little tuckered out from the drive and required a quick cat-nap on the ground to get some energy.

Jane literally licked her plate clean. On numerous occasions.

Mmmmm... buckwheat pancakes!

He was in a much better mood after he ate and got a chocolate milkshake.

It was at this point that some old lady offered to pay for my breakfast if I would give her Ethan. I declined the offer, but I don't blame her for asking.

This is a result of eating ice cream with Dad later that night. Lucky boy. Sweet mustache.

I'd buy you dinner if I could keep Ethan too!

You have a GPS, how did you get lost?

Your dad's question is a good one. Now that I've been out there, I'm pretty sure that "the middle of nowhere" was invented to describe Allegany County. Good times, though!

Ethan does look a lot like you did at this age (in that last ice cream cone picture). We will have to compare pictures next time you are here!
