Or at least that's my excuse for not posting in the last 3 weeks. Gotta leave the audience wanting. Even if that means that what they get is not groundbreaking news. My other excuse is that I haven't busted out my camera as much since having an iPhone and when I do take pictures I upload them to social networking sites so I feel like I am posting. But this blog is more or less a family journal so I have to doubly post these pictures for posterity's sake.
Anyway, in the last few weeks we've done a few exciting things. First, we went to Star Wars day at the Museum of Play. I was surprised that Ethan could identify the differences between Storm, Snow and Scout Troopers. Shame on me; I thought there were only storm troopers. He got to meet all the characters (though C3PO and Yoda weren't there) and since we went early we hardly had to wait in line at all.
Eleanor has been growing like crazy. Her hair especially. It's funny that a while ago we couldn't imagine her with hair, but now it's strange to look back and see what she looked like without hair. She still doesn't say much (or at least much that we understand) though she is getting better about mimicking us and trying to say words. She will babble and sing but doesn't tend to use legitimate words. She's still big for her age and in the 95th percentile for weight, 75th percentile for height.
Proof of Eleanor growing. I actually got a picture of her sleeping in at 9:50 am. It was so late! She doesn't nap for long, but makes up for it by sleeping 13-14 hours a night.
Ethan is still very much into Legos. He loves Lego Ninjago, Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars. His Birthday is this coming Saturday and he requested to have a Lego Batman party. We're still in the planning stages, but I'm sure he is going to love everything.
Ethan likes regular super heroes too, so we found some vintage comic book cover postcards and framed them for his room.
Ben has been working like crazy. He has had many nights where he's been at the office until past midnight or has worked from home until past midnight. We love and appreciate him for all that he does and it makes the time we have with him at home seem all the more special. These two adore their dad.
Me, well I've been keeping busy. I've been helping out with the last 5 weeks of preschool and then between entertaining the kids, swim class, music class, play-dates, and crafting I haven't had too much time to be bored. Which is good. But then there are those occasions where I get to take a nap when both kids are down, and that's nice too.
Yesterday was Mother's Day and these two make me so happy to be a mother. They keep me on my toes, but are generally very well behaved children. I'm lucky to be their Mom.

Oh, and remember this post just a few months ago where I was so happy to be done with a car payment? Well Ben's car died about a week ago and so it was time to get another. Since we figured it would eventually happen that we'd be looking into minivans, we decided to bite the bullet with a low APR from Honda. We get the car tomorrow, but we are officially minivan owners. Gulp!

Love the update Amanda. That lower right photo of Eleanore pressing her face against the window kills me! I know its hard to make a minivan look "sexy" but my goodness that add almost got me thinking that I want one. Okay maybe not, but I do think you are making a good choice. Can't wait to see you all this summer.
Yeah! An update! I needed my Ethan and Eleanor fix.
Congrats on the car! You'll have to take pictures and update again when you get it.

Great update. I hereby relinquish all grilling duties and responsibilities to Ben. That was one perfect looking steak.
I totally need those same superhero postcards you have! Any chance you found them somewhere I could get them? Cailen is having a superhero birthday party next month and those would be perfect! PS I just know I'm going to have to jump on the minivan bandwagon so you will have to let us all know how you like it! And your kids are ADORABLE!! :)
