It all started with a door. I think it was in January when I saw an ad on Craigslist for a 1920's door for about $25. I figured I could revamp it into a headboard after seeing it on Martha Stewart and my friend, Kate's blog. I contacted the seller and picked it up a couple days later. I figured I'd wait until my Dad came into town so he could help me trim it down, put trim on it and mount it, so in the meantime I stripped one side of it of the layers of paint and patched the holes from the old hardware. Fast forward 7 months and the project is finally complete! Luckily since I had so much time, I decided to stencil the wall behind our bed which was a huge project that took me about a week to finish (and I've still got some work to do on it).

i'm pleased too.
I love it. I am in desperate need of some master bedroom revamping...wanna come live with me for a month and help me out?! :)
You're bedroom is absolutely lovely. However, my favorite picture in this post as the one of the cluttered top of your dresser. It makes me feel good about the little cluttered surfaces in my house.
Amanda, I love the end results. You are amazing. I have so many projects like this but with two kids I can't seem to find the time. I am so impressed that you manage to get it all done.
The room is amazing...you should be pleased! It looks like it was a lot of work. Come do my room!!
Amanda, it looks awesome. What a project.
Outstanding.
I blog stalked you over from facebook and I had to comment. I love the door headboard! That is something that we are hoping to do when we upgrade to a king size bed, so I might have to utilize your expert knowledge. Also, the stenciling? Awesome! Can you teach me how?:)
I, too, have some serious mb remodeling to do. Love what you chose and love that you did lots of it yourself--how cool is that!?
