New Art

It's not like me to post again within a few days of my last post, but I think I heard some crickets chirp with that last one. Anyway, over the weekend we decided to add some new decor to our walls. Since we changed the color scheme of the bedroom it was time to change the art on the shelf above our bed.

We got the art from a 2009 calendar of vintage American travel posters. We had to spray paint the matting white, so the total cost for the project was $1.

Here's a look at our new bedding and art all together.

We also finally got around to framing some pictures for Ethan's big blue wall in his room.

We got this art from a Christopher Wormell book we bought a while back. The frames were half-off at Michaels and worked perfectly. Total cost was $36.

It is slightly dangerous to have the art right above Ethan's changing table. Especially since he's already pulled down the stegosaurus picture.

Totally unrelated picture, but while I was putting the room together Ethan took out some books and started reading them. He's quite the bookworm.

I didn't hear any crickets. I just couldn't think of anything else.

I love your decorating! The pictures look really good and I like how they are from a calendar and a book.

Framed pictures from calendars... we had quite a few of those in our house when you were growing up! (We even had some framed large postcards and greeting cards) You proved that it is still a great idea. It saves a lot of money and provides some fun artwork for the walls. I love what you did in Ethan's room AND in your bedroom! The new pictures go great with your new bedding and the fun pillows that you made!

That looks great! And I'm always for decorating on a budget--especially if it ends up looking good. Nice!

No joke I couldn't think of anything, that is why you and Ben rock me at Bananagram. The decos look fab, just like my bed skirt.

Amanda, I am so impressed with your "thrifty" decorating. I have decorating envy. Want to come spruce up my house? We have bone-chilling weather over here too. :)
