Happy Halloween!

This year we've decided to make Halloween a week-long event. On Tuesday we went to Ben's firm and went trick-or-treating around three office floors. Ethan was very apprehensive taking candy from strangers, but once he realized that he was getting candy he felt a little more at ease. In fact he wouldn't mess around and would go straight for the bucket without acknowledging the person handing it out. That and he would tend to grab 2 pieces of candy at a time.

Then on Wednesday we had our ward's annual Halloween Carnival. Since Ben and I were both involved in booths at the carnival, we kind of let Ethan roam around a bit. His favorite booth was the candy walk. Not that he understood what was going on and that he ever won, but he loved the music and kids walking around in circles. That kept him entertained most of the evening. When it came to the trunk-or-treat portion of the evening he wasn't having it so he ended up sitting in our trunk with us handing out candy.

Then on Thursday we decided we wanted to carve our pumpkins but because I had a meeting at church we just ended up sketching out our pumpkins. Ethan loved drawing on his pumpkin, so that was enough for him.

Since I had work last night, today was the only chance we got to carve our pumpkins. At least our pumpkins won't decay before Halloween night like last year. So anyway, we got up this morning and went to work. I thought Ethan would love playing with the pumpkin seeds and strings, but he was more interested in the actual carving. In the time it took me to carve just one pumpkin, Ben did both his and Ethan's. I think they turned out pretty good though. Ethan's is of course Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba.

We plan on going just up our street to trick-or-treat with Ethan tonight, so I'll probably post pictures a little later of him in his costume.

Here are the promised pictures. Ethan had a great time trick-or-treating with our neighbor Noelani. Even though we had to be the ones to say "Trick-or-Treat" and "Thank You".

Sounds like you all had FUN! Thanks for posting the pictures and sharing with us. We just got back from Auntie Ann's and got to see all the little cousins and grandkids in their costumes. Lance was Harry Potter, Renee was a fairy princess, Chase was a dalmatian puppy, Alivia and Paige were bumblebees... they were all too cute!
