Happy Anniversary

Today marks 2 blissful years of marriage! We started our celebrations a little early since we knew Monday wouldn’t be the most ideal day to go out to eat. Actually I would say that we started celebrating a couple weeks back when I went to the dentist to get my tooth fixed. While biting down on a nail (which I seldom do) the bonding on one of my teeth popped off. After 2 visits to the dentist, he ended up re-bonding my tooth which cost $425. I told Ben that I didn’t want any presents for our anniversary since it was such a pricey procedure. I know that on the 2 year anniversary you’re supposed to give cotton, or china, but I think a tooth will have to do this year. It’s funny because we always seem to justify expenses like that. If one of us wants something we’ll say that it goes towards a Christmas present, a birthday present, etc. This wasn’t actually something I wanted this time, but it was definitely something I needed.

Anyway, I feel bad that Ben got the short end of the stick, but I hope that the quality time we spent together on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary made up for that. After work on Saturday morning we took the drive down to Short Pump in Richmond (I actually fell asleep on the car ride down. I’m horrible). We walked around a little bit and had an early dinner at Maggiano’s. We had a coupon, so of course we went there. We couldn’t agree on something that we both really wanted since everything I wanted had mushrooms in it, but we ended up getting the manicotti which was delicious. Afterward we drove a little further to Costco where we bought some discount movie tickets with a gift card and then made our way back to Short Pump again to see a flick. Neither of us was dying to see any of the movies playing, but we ended up picking Oceans 13. It was a fun movie, but I still prefer Oceans 11. At least it was better than the last one that was put out.

As for our plans today, we’ll see what Ben has up his sleeve. Saturday was good enough for me, so we’ll probably end up lounging around watching Hell’s Kitchen on Fox. Nothing says Happy Anniversary like cheesy reality shows.

Happy Anniversary Ben, I love you!

PS. These are what awaited me when I came home from work on our Anniversary. Good work Ben.

Cheesy reality shows aside, nothing says "Happy Anniversary" like saying "Happy Anniversary!" especially on that day. Sorry.

We love you both.

I was going to call you to see how the anniversary went, but I got all my information here! We are glad you had such a great day on Saturday...but then you two always seem to be happy no matter what. We love you too.

Oh great, now I have to make reservations at Magiannos for our upcoming anniversary. Thanks for raising Julie's expectations, jerks.
