Things are going swell around here. Between preschool, naps, music class, play-dates, work, and other miscellaneous things, we've been busy. Ethan has been loving preschool and the after-school hang out time he gets with his bud, Simon. I have been appreciative of not having to pick up Ethan while Eleanor is soundly asleep (thanks, Kelly). I don't know why I didn't previously think of the fact that Eleanor's nap is right when preschool gets out. Hmmm... I'm sure her nap will eventually be pushed further back so that I can do my motherly duty and pick up my own child from school.

Anyway, the kids are good and they better stay good, because in a few days I'll be taking off solo to NYC with some friends. Bless Ben for being willing to watch both kids and on top of that a not-yet-weaned baby. I have no doubt that the kids will have a blast with their Dad for 3 days, though I'm not sure I will be able to say the same for Ben. I love my kids, but being with them for 9-10 hours straight by myself can be pretty exhausting. Try that for 3 days, with no reinforcements?!?! Father of the Year award to Ben for sure. He's a keeper.

So back to the kids, here are some pics of them doing some of their favorite things as of late. First off, Ethan. He's really been into role playing. For the most part he's been Batman, and we've been assigned to be either Robin or the Joker/Penguin/Two-Face/Riddler. When he's with other kids he tells them what characters they are. We've told Ethan to not call other kids the "bad guy" since we've had two incidents that involved the "bad guy" getting hit with either a rock or a stick. Sorry to those two kids. On a recent outing to JoAnn's we found a Batman mask that was on sale and so we just had to get it for the kid who loves all things Batman these days. So with the mask, a cape, and his bounty of Batman tees, he is able to suit up at any time to be his favorite superhero.

Even the Dark Knight needs a potty break.

Ethan was convinced that he was a fireman in this outfit. Uh, sure Ethan!

Next is Eleanor. She isn't into superheros yet, though if they were in Lego form (come January they will be) she would be eating them. We still have to keep all things Lego out of her reach because she has a fascination with putting them in her mouth. I figure that if she learns to walk she'll be further away from the ground and less likely to just pick things up and put them in her mouth. Probably not sound logic, but I really wouldn't mind her walking. She's been practicing and can stand for about 10 seconds at a time and has taken about 4 steps. Wohoo for progress!

Standing unassisted.

She usually needs a bait to stand.

Another favorite is eating. She has been a champ recently.

She loves Ethan's toys and tries to confiscate them when he's not looking.

She's screeching in this picture which is another thing that she loves to do.

The ever so sweet "stink face" that she gives to just about everybody.

She really is sweet... when she wants to be!

Awesome! I'm loving the pictures as well. Ethan is a ham and Eleanor is adorable--even with a stink face.
