5 Years and Plenty of Projects

So last Friday was our 5th Anniversary. Wohoo! I can't believe it's been 5 years already, but at the same time, it's only been 5 years?! Ben and I talked about not really buying anything for each other this anniversary since we had just spent a good chunk of change on some home improvement stuff and since our anniversary falls right between Mother's and Father's Day. But Ben being the good husband that he is bought me some beautiful red roses, got a babysitter and took me out to a nice dinner at 2Vine downtown. Afterward we walked around our old stomping grounds and walked through the Jazz Festival. All in all it was a great low-key anniversary. Just the way I like it.

In other news we've been just hanging around attempting to keep ourselves occupied when it's either too hot to go out, or it's raining. It fluctuates a lot around here. When it has been nice Ethan has enjoyed going down to the Erie Canal to feed the ducks and to stop by the dairy to get some chocolate milk and cookies. I foresee many trips to the canal this summer.

When the weather is pretty gross or Ethan decides to take long naps I've been getting crafty. A couple of the projects I did were prior to us knowing we were having a girl, but it's a good thing that we are having a girl since most of the things I made ended up being more feminine than masculine. Some of the things I've been working on are:

Infant carrier canopy or tent.

I got the tutorial from here.

This baby quilt that I bought as a DIY kit from JoAnn's.

Knit newborn beanies and flowers.

The felt flowers aren't on the hats, but I think they make them cuter. I got the tutorial from here.

I made these curtains for Ethan's room since it is lighter out when he goes to sleep and wakes up. I cherish my sleep and had to do something about him waking up at 6 am.

I've also attempted to branch out culinary wise and try to make pizzas. Here's our CPK BBQ Chicken Pizza we had the other night.
Thanks go solely to the Pioneer Woman.

And lastly I've been trying to keep up with this little nut. Man does he make life more fun.

Happy anniversary!

You keep surprising me! I didn't know you were so crafty. Too bad we don't live near each other again so we could get our craft on. The knitted beanies and flowers are my favorite!!

Great pictures! Fun projects!! How do you find the time to do all that while pregnant and taking care of a toddler? I'm impressed. And three cheers for Pioneer woman... her recipes are amazing. If you haven't tried her lasagna yet, do it NOW!!

You are so crafty, I love it! I totally put those cute felt flowers on my diaper bag to make it more girly (using the same bag we had with Lucas). Thanks for finding the template and teaching the YW. And we loved the pizza...now I know your secret!

Oh, and Happy Anniversary!

WOW, I hadn't checked your blog in a while but I have to say I'm so impressed by your craftiness and by how adorable little Ethan is!
Anyhow, quick question (sorry, totally not blog related but I don't have your guys' email addresses) - Ben does labor law or something along those lines, right? Would he have a minute for me to ask him a question or two? Thanks! My email is dcromney@yahoo.com.
