Manilow and Milkshakes

So remember that time that I said we were going to see Barry Manilow? Yeah, last week... well, last night was the night. We are participating in this fantastic babysitting co-op, so we had the babysitting covered. We apparently don't go to enough concerts though... the tickets said it started at 7:30, but the opening act didn't start until 8. This modern Jazz guy was groovin' on his keyboard and then about mid-way through his songs would grab his trombone and run from once side of the stage to the other just wailing on that thing. It was definitely ridiculous. Anyway, his act was done at 8:30, there was a 30 minute set-change so Barry didn't get on stage until 9.

We had requested that Ethan be watched from 7-9:30 (which is past his bedtime so we knew he'd be a little cranky) so Ben got to see him perform about 3 songs and then had to leave to go pick up Ethan. We felt a little guilty that we had taken these tickets from the firm, so I stuck around for an extra half hour or so to watch more Barry. I must have been the only person in the arena that wasn't singing along with every song. I only recognized about 2 out of 10 songs. I guess I'm not a huge Fanilow. He's a legend though, so at least I can say I've seen him perform.

The milkshakes part of this entry is mostly just a comparison of me and Ethan chugging on some shakes. I think the one I'm sipping is an Orange Julius though. This kid is definitely part Ben, and part me.
