So yesterday Ethan had his first day of school at a legitimate
preschool. He's going to school #23 which is right off of Park Ave. downtown. It's the school that I liked the most and we got into the morning program which means it's everyday from 9-11:30m, except Wednesdays which is 9-11. I love that
it's every day, and so far he's loving it too.
Yesterday Ethan woke up early as usual (he's always the first one up in our house) and then Ben made him breakfast. We got him ready and by the time it was time to go, Eleanor woke up. She's been waking up anywhere between 9-10:15 for the last week or so, so it was an early day for her. We set up the chalkboard on the front porch and snapped some pictures of Ethan before we drove him to school.
Since Eleanor didn't look so ready and proper I cropped her out of most of the other shots.
When we got to Ethan's classroom he got his sticker name tag, got some soap on his hands and went straight in to wash his hands. I followed him in to get a couple pictures and say goodbye, but he wasn't really concerned about where I was.
Next the teachers had him pick out a snack. I guess that since we're in the city they get a breakfast every day. This morning when I dropped him off it was a choice between mini wheats, milk, bananas and gold fish graham crackers. Though we'll still probably feed him before school it's nice to know that if we're in a rush he can eat at school.
And with that we said goodbye and Ethan spent the rest of his morning at school. Though I was planning to leave on-time to pick up Ethan from school, I got a call at 11:15. As soon as I answered the phone I realized it was Wednesday and I was supposed to pick him up at 11. Oops. Rookie mistake. Ethan was fine and though he was the only kid there waiting, he didn't seem to mind. His teacher said he drew a great picture and then Ethan handed me his Superman drawing. Today his teacher told me that he drew an interesting instrument for his picture. He had told her it was a mix between a piano and a guitar. When I asked her if it was a keytar, she said, "Yes! Is that a real instrument?". Thanks Yo Gabba Gabba for teaching my child about the classic 80's instrument.

EVERYDAY! Are you in any sort of carpool, or do you drive every day? I'm sure Ethan is loving it, he is so smart and so creative! We miss the grandkids. Glad you posted pictures!
Nothing like the first day of school! I'm glad he is still rocking the Clark Kent hair.
Ethan is so adorable in these photos. It is crazy that so many of our kids are now in school. Looks like he has a great classroom and is loving pre- k!
