Montreal

We got back yesterday from our weekend getaway to Montreal with my brother Tyler. He served his mission there 10 years ago and hadn't been back, so he was itching to go. It was a good thing we had him around since
1. My French isn't particularly good (I understand a lot more than I can speak)
2. We would have had no idea what places to visit while we were there
3. He has a Magellan which makes traveling so much easier when you have no idea where you're going
4. He loves to entertain Ethan, which is always nice

Though our trip was short and we spent at least a few hours of it at Ikea (we don't have one near us and we needed to get a cheap kitchen table) we had a great time. It's not too far of a drive so we're thinking we'll probably go back sometime. Plus 1,000 Islands is right on the way up there and we only got to stop for a little bit to check it out. Ethan was a great little traveler, and only had a few breakdowns. Here are some pics from our trip.

Streets of Old Montreal

1 plate of Poutine (fries + gravy + cheese curds) is more than enough for 3 people

Ben & Ethan at the City Hall

Ethan & Uncle Tyler were best buds this trip

On top of St. Joseph's... a great view of the city

Family picture at 1,000 Islands (Ethan was a little unhappy by now, maybe because he had to wear the same sweatshirt 3 days in a row)

Today, Tyler and I took a little half-day trip to Palmyra since he hadn't been to the Church sites out there. Once again, Ethan was a trooper, but only because Uncle Tyler carried him throughout the entire tour of the Smith Family Farm.

Beautiful fall colors at the Farm

Ethan really looks like he's given up on life here... in a full sweatsuit and all

Thanks Grandma for the Jackson Hole shirt

Um, do you think you could pass some of that poutine my way??? Yum. Ethan is looking pretty darn cute, by the way. And can you come and decorate my house....after 6months I am still working on hanging things on the walls. HELP!

Hey Amanda! How exciting that you guys bought a house- it is so charming! And what a fun trip to Montreal- did it make you miss Croissy and Paris?
